- General management responsibilities and tasks:
- Overseeing and organize the office and the staff’s work, follow-up, guide and evaluate their performance, and motivate them to healthy competition.
- Prepare the draft budget of the office and a suggest an annual program of work. Identify the training needs for the office staff and of the Centre’s in the field of quality, and coordinate with the Office of Scientific Cooperation and Training that identifies the human needs to achieve the goals, and work on coordinating with competent bodies to provide it.
- Overseeing and preparing a report on the competence of the staff and suggest a bonus to the distinct workers to motivate and nominate them for promotions according to the regulations of the Biotechnology Centre.
- Prepare periodic reports on the office activity.
- Other assigned tasks in relation to its specialization.
- Technical responsibilities and tasks:
- Raising awareness on quality culture and principles amongst the workers of the Centre.
- Developing the quality management system in accordance to the latest international standard ISO9001 and ISOIEC 17025.
- Prepare and execute internal-audit plans and document its results, transfer it to the representatives of the administration in order to study it, evaluate and show the weaknesses that require improvements and take the necessary actions.
- Prepare a detailed plan of the internal-audit to execute.
- Follow-up on applying the precautionary measures included in the quality management system in the Biotechnology Centre.
- Follow-up on the application and measuring the effectiveness of corrective actions in case of deviation in the quality system in the Centre, in coordination with the administration representative and warn the manager, office or department specialized of the degree of deviations in the system and document it.
- Carrying out an unplanned internal audit to monitor the adherence of the administrations, offices and the different administrational organization in the Centre, by applying the quality management system and identifying the deviations and knowing the effectiveness of the precautionary procedures in handling that.
- Coordinate with external auditors and accompanying them in the inspections of the Centre.
- Provide technical guidance to the administrations and offices that are specialized in preparing and reviewing processes and procedures, work instructions, models and records in their respective, in accordance to the quality management system in the Centre.
- Follow-up the commitment of applying the quality management system in the Centre’s labs and its branches and meet the requirements of the obtained approval certificates.
- Develop and follow-up the inter-calibration programs, and ensure the calibration of the devices, equipment and furnishings in the Centre and its branches.
- Suggest, develop and follow-up the ways of constant improvement of the quality management system of the Centre’s lab and the branches’, including the processes and customer service and seeking to reach the overall quality.
- Other responsibilities and tasks:
- Suggest organizational and planning programs, guidance and supervision on the needed works and activities, continuity, application, development and improvement of the quality management system of the Centre’s labs and the branches’ according to the principles of ISO 9000 and the requirements of the description of the latest international standard
- Suggest the goals of quality and the needed strategies and policies to achieve it, and follow-up its execution and approval from the administration representatives.
- Work on accreditation of the Centre’s lab and the branches’ from the accreditation bodies, in accordance to the international standard IS0 17025, and work on establishing, applying and improving the quality management system in the Centre and its branches.
- Prepare for the administrations review on the lab’s quality management system and the branches’ by coordinating with the administration representative.
- Follow-up and execute the management reviews meeting decisions in concern with the quality management system.
The goals of warranty and quality assurance office:
- Accreditation of the Biotechnology lab and the branches’ according to the requirements of the international standard ISO/ IEC 17025:2005, the Centre is currently seeking the accreditation to a group of experiments in three labs, which are: GM Food Detection Lab, Water Analysis Lab and Micro-biology Lab.
- Progressivity in the process of accreditation and establish priorities based on standards set by the lab’s activity, the providence of human and laboratory potential and the available financial resources.
- Provide distinguished service to our clients in their areas of competence.
Policy of the warranty and quality office:
The Biotechnology and its branches work on providing distinguished services and rise with the applied and theoretical researches and studies in the scientific fields, which fall within its purview, and the Centre seeks on applying the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
And that is achieved through:
- Compliance with the legal and organizational requirements.
- Provide unique services and conduct tests, studies and researches in the various fields that fall within the purview of the Centre’s specializations through coefficients adopted by the international requirements.
- Update and prepare the labs of the Centre and its branches with the latest appliances and the necessary equipment, maintain and calibrate it regularly.
- The optimal use of the available resources to develop the workers’ skills.
- Provide scientific and technical counselling to our clients and agencies in relation to the Biotechnology fields.
- Constant improvement to the service quality through applying the quality system of the Centre’s ad its branches’ labs.
