The Safety, Security and Environmental Protection
Office takes on the following tasks:
- Suggest the general plans in the field of industrial safety and the occupational health and safety.
- Take all the scientific measures to prevent or reduce the dangers posed by conducting work in the Centre.
- Work on applying the standards, procedures and necessary precautions when conducting scientific analysis and tests.
- Execute and apply laws, regulations and systems in the field of safety and security to maintain the workers’ health and safety in the workplace.
- Supply the safety and security units in the workplace with technical information and guides.
- Supervise the administrative headquarters, buildings and facilities and provide the necessary security that serves the confidentiality of the work in the Centre.
- Supervise the shifts and private guards works in the Centre and its facilities.
- Secure safety measures, preventions, fire control and the necessary alarm system.
- Insure the safety and validity of the fire-fighting means and the safety and security imperatives and other special arrangements of the workers in the workplace by field visits and sustained follow-up.
- Identify the needs of workers activities in the safety and security.
- Release periodic publications and prepare posters and set-up training programs in all the employees’ fields.
- Take the necessary actions to secure all the properties of the Centre in the workplace and follow-up its restoration.
- Insure the placement of waste in the designated areas according to the system applied in the Centre and its branches.
- Follow-up the execution of the procedures and controls that are influenced by the cleanness and the good environment of the place coordinating with the Warranty and Quality Office.
- Investigate the reasons of accidents and injuries and prepare a special technical report on it, and take the necessary procedures to reduce the rate of its repetition and minimize the percentage of loses by cooperating and collaborating with the Legal Affairs Office.
- Suggest the estimated budget of the office.
- Dispose of the Centre’s laboratories waste in the correct scientific ways.
Perform other similar tasks assigned to the office.
